Business Degree Prepared Baltimore Realtor For A Variety Of Responsibilities
Realtors are responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities. They help people find new homes and also assist them in selling their current homes. Realtors also offer consultations on home-selling tactics and ways to improve appearances and make minor repairs. Rachel Sturm, a realtor currently with Keller Williams Realty Centre in Columbia, has been offering her diverse expertise and proven years of experience to countless clients since beginning her career back in 2003.
Sturm graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in business management. She has been working as a professional real estate sales person since her 2003 start and has been known as a multi-million dollar sales associate since 2004. Back in 2011, she was named "Top Agent with the Most Settlements at Coldwell Banker" in December 2011. She also ranked among the "Top 10 Realtors at Coldwell Banker Ellicott City" back in 2013.
What are the responsibilities of your current role?
"My real estate practice includes the professional marketing of properties for sale as a listing agent and representing buyers as a buyer's agent."
What is your favorite part about your daily duties?
"This is sort of a tough one since I really love all aspects of it. If I had to pick just one of my favorite things, it would be seeing the joy on buyers' faces when they get the keys to their new home!"
How has your education and training prepared you for your current role?
"My business background certainly helps in how I deal with clients, other realtors and other business associates that I come in contact with. Being a realtor is perfect for me. I went into business management because I always said I wanted to own my own business. As a realtor, I am my own boss and everything I do is up to me, so essentially I am my own boss. I did have to take the real estate classes as well as a state and federal exam in order to obtain a license."
What do you do to continue your education and training?
"Once you have your license, [you] are required to do at least 15 hours of continuing education every two years. Keller Williams Realty Centre also offers various classes each week, but these may not be classes where you would be obtaining credits. They are more about training techniques and getting more business."
