Broadway Musical 'Cinderella' Takes Center Stage At the Hippodrome
BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Cinderella's transformation from rags to princess has been touching hearts for decades.
The classic story turned Broadway musical is center-stage at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theater.
Sarah Primmer, who plays the evil stepmother, "Madame" takes WJZ backstage to see the Tony-Award winning costumes.
She says the show has something for everyone.
"I think it's a really fun romantic comedy, you're going to laugh, you're going to cry," said Primmer.
And of course there are the glass slippers.
"They're magical," says Primmer.
There's no need for special effects because the magic happens before your very eyes, right on stage.
"We have a few new things in our show so you have to give them what they came to see, but also treat them to a few extra knew things," Primmer said.
It's a new spin on the classic tale of a girl's quest for happily ever after, but the message remains the same.
"Knowing that you can have a dream, even as silly as it seems, but somehow it can be possible," said Primmer.
Cinderella will be here at the Hippodrome through November 6th.
