Boy Linked to Florida Amber Alert Found Safe In Md.; Father Wanted

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A 4-year-old boy, who was the subject of an Amber Alert after his mother was found dead in Jacksonville, Florida, has been found in Maryland, but authorities are still searching for the father.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was conducting a welfare check on Wednesday at the La Esperanza apartments in Jacksonville when they discovered the body of a woman. Authorities issued an Amber Alert after learning that 4-year-old Norris Dail Jr. and his father, Norris Dail Sr. were missing.

Soon after the Amber Alert was issued Baltimore Police confirmed that the boy was found safe in Maryland.

But Dail Sr., who's being identified as the woman's boyfriend, is still being sought by police and may be driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant with Maryland tags 1BK9546.

Police say the license plate is a "Baltimore Ravens" specialty plate and there's a Raven's sticker on the window.

Norris is described as 6-feet tall, weighing 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

It's still unknown who dropped the boy off in Maryland. Baltimore Police say they could not reveal any further information to protect the child's safety.

According to Maryland Court Record, Dail Sr. was involved in multiple domestic-violence cases through the years, including one last May.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Dail Sr. is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at (904) 630-0513.

Authorities have not provide further information on the cause of death of the woman, nor her identity.
