Boy, 15, Fatally Stabbed In The Heart By Family Friend In Dundalk
DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) -- One 15-year-old is dead and another charged with first degree murder after a stabbing Monday night in the Turner Station neighborhood of Dundalk.
Derek Valcourt has details on the crime and what family members say was behind it.
It's the first day of school at Dundalk High but sophomore Timothy Hall won't be there. The 15-year-old died Monday night, stabbed in the heart in the Day Village area of Turner Station.
"It hurt me so bad because I wasn't there for my son," said his mother, Daphne Tull. "I wish I was there for him."
A devastated Tull says she knows her son's killer, identified by police as 15-year-old Jalen Parrish.
"This child slept in my son's bed; he ate to my table. My son was a friend to him and he did this to my son," Tull said. "I think he should get the maximum sentence---life. He took my son's life. Let him suffer."
The attack happened in Turner Station, just a few blocks down from the Hall's home. The suspect immediately ran from the scene. Police tracked him down to his own home, just a few doors down from the victim.
"At this time, we don't know exactly what started the argument. We don't know what was going on between the two leading up to the point where the victim was stabbed," said Cpl. John Wachter, Baltimore County police.
Though he's just 15, Parrish has been charged as an adult with first degree murder.
Tull says she has since learned her son was in a fight with one of the suspect's friends just a few days prior to the stabbing.
"If I had known that my son had a death threat on him, if I had known, my son would be here right now," she said. "So for all you mothers out there, listen to your kids. Pay attention to your friends."
The victim's family is planning a vigil for Wednesday night near the crime scene in the Day Village area of Turner Station at 7 p.m.
Parrish is being held without bail.
