Bob Haynie: NFL Predictions For 2014
The 2014 NFL regular season started on Thursday night with the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks spanking the Green Bay Packers 36-16. For the record, I picked the Packers prior to the game. So, I'm already in midseason form when it comes to predictions.
Undeterred, I will continue to make prognostications throughout the year and I may even get a few right.
That being said, here is I how believe the standings will look for the National Football League in 2014.
AFC East
1) Patriots
2) Jets
3) Dolphins
4) Bills
AFC South
1) Colts
2) Titans
3) Texans
4) Jags
AFC North
1) Ravens
2) Bengals
3) Steelers
4) Browns
AFC West
1) Broncos
2) Chargers
3) Chiefs
4) Raiders
NFC East
1) Eagles
2) Redskins
3) Giants
4) Cowboys
NFC South
1) Saints
2) Falcons
3) Panthers
4) Bucs
NFC North
1) Packers
2) Bears
3) Lions
4) Vikings
NFC West
1) Seahawks
2) 49'ers
3) Cardinals
4) Rams
AFC Wild Cards -- Bengals, Chargers
AFC Champ -- Colts
NFC Wild Cards -- Bears, 49ers
NFC Champ -- Seahawks
Super Bowl Champ -- Seahawks
I know repeating is hard, but the Seahawks are the most complete team in the league. I do not expect any sort of Super Bowl hangover from this group. Barring injuries, they should be able to become the first back-to-back NFL champions since the Patriots accomplished that feat almost a decade ago.
