Bill Cosby Performs In Baltimore, Protestors Not Far Behind
BALTIMORE (WJZ)--Accusations of sexual assault followed Bill Cosby to Baltimore as he appeared at the Lyric last night.
Pat Warren reports on the protest during his performance.
Bill Cosby's performance at the Lyric last night was interrupted by a heckler who was later escorted out of the theater.
WJZ was there as Bill Cosby took the stage at the Lyric last night. Later in the show he was verbally confronted by a man in the audience, as you hear in this video provided courtesy of City Paper.
Outside the theater, protestors had a message for people arriving to see the performance.
"If you're paying for something like this you're saying you're on his side."
"How you spend your money reflects who you are as a person."
More than 3 dozen women have now accused Cosby of drugging and raping them, some cases dating back to the 70's and outside the statute of limitations. Cosby supporters also had a voice.
"He has a very good talent. Think about it, he's been around forever. He's an icon," said Michael Anthony Smith.
"It's hard to believe that you have a circle of people and no one knew what was going on until 50 years later," one woman said.
"I can't believe he's still on tour. I can't believe it but i want to see it. It's like a train wreck. People can't look away, you know," William Runkle said.

And during the show they witnessed the fallout from it.
Cosby remained composed during the heckling and urged audience members not to respond. There were cheers when the protestor was escorted from the theater.
But the protestors made their point.
The Lyric management says it was honoring its contract with the promoter who booked Cosby more than a year ago.
Cosby has several more performances on his comedy tour.
