Bethesda, Rockville on Snobbiest Small Cities List

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A real estate website has named two Montgomery County cities among the top 10 snobbiest small cities in America.

The real estate website Movoto.com ranked Bethesda second on its list. Rockville tied for number eight with Encinitas, California.

Movoto says to create its list it looked at cities with populations between 45,000 and 65,000 as well as criteria such as home prices, household income, percent of the population with a college degree and private schools and art galleries per capita.

Movoto says more than 83 percent of Bethesda's population has a college degree, the highest percentage on the list.

Palo Alto, California ranked number one on the list. The other cities were: Brookline, Massachusetts; Hoboken, New Jersey; Oak Park, Illinois; and San Rafael, Walnut Creek and Laguna Niguel in California.
