Gertrude's is located within the Baltimore Museum of Art and has become known as a go to for reliable and moderately priced Chesapeake dishes. One highlight that it is known for is the "Tuesdays with Gertie" menu specials from 5 p.m. to  9 p.m. every Tuesday. These $12 menu specials are worth all of the hype with dishes like the crab cake platter, single-fry oysters and the Maryland pan fried chicken. Owner and Chef Sarah Simington opened this acclaimed breakfast spot in the historic Fells Point neighborhood in 1996. Simington's passion and attitude not only comes through in her dishes but also in the decor, which is a mix of bright and funky meets rock and roll. The homemade cinnamon rolls will bring anyone back again, but don't forget to try her well-known dish of Captain Crunch french toast or one of the weekly specials that she posts on the restaurant's Facebook page. A second location in Federal Hills at 1024 Light Street is in the works, bringing all of the same great hype plus some extras.
