Organized by the American Veterans Center, the National Memorial Day parade will salute Military & Fallen Heroes from the American Revolution Through Afghanistan & Iraq. The parade, launched in 2005, is now televised and broadcast live to United States troops stationed around the world. The parade is the largest Memorial Day event in the nation and is a great way to show appreciation those we are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom.

Mount Vernon is the site of the Sunset Celebration event over Memorial Day. On May 24 and May 25, guests can attend the Sunset Celebration at Mount Vernon from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitors can tour the Mansion at George Washington's Mount Vernon, stroll the grounds, take wagon rides and partake on some wine and desserts. Costumed performers will entertain guests with 18th century music and dancing.

The 147th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is hosted by the Gettysburg Joint Veterans Memorial Day Commission. The parade and ceremony takes place on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, starting at 2 p.m. The parade will begin at Lefever Street in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and proceed northeast to Middle Street, then west on East middle Street, south on Baltimore Street, before ending at the Soldiers' National Cemetery. After the 147th Annual Memorial Day Parade there will be a Ceremony starting at 3 p.m. at the Rostrum in the Soldiers' National Cemetery.

From May 23 to May 25, visitors to Memorial Day Weekend at Antietam National Battlefield can take a ranger tour, participate in a cemetery program, and experience living history to learn more about the sacrifices made by American soldiers at Antietam National Battlefield. On Memorial Day, there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. Visitors to Antietam National Battlefield can begin their visit by exploring the Visitor Center, viewing the 26-minute introductory film, and joining a Park Ranger for a battlefield talk.
