The majority of Christmas traditions commonly held in America have their roots in the German and Scandinavian cultures. The annual Christmas Village brings those cultures to the Inner Harbor as a rollicking month-long adventure that includes food, entertainment and loads of booths all centered around the rich German heritage that made Christmas what it is. The Christmas Village is an open-air event, and some of the attractions you can expect to find include wines, foods, decorations, music, dances, plays and comedic displays.

The Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center makes Christmas special by inviting several regional artists to craft and display Christmas ornaments, each hung lovingly on the large, decorative tree that sits in the Main Gallery of the Arts Building. Visitors may come and be dazzled by the tree and its decorations - an art display all to itself. But unlike other art displays, guests are welcome to pluck an attractive ornament from the tree, take it to the gift shop and purchase it to take home. No other art gallery in Maryland provides a Christmas display this artistic and interactive. Come by and enjoy the art, then take a little of the gallery home with you!
