Baltimore State's Attorney Candidates Take Part In Debate
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Criminal justice issues sparked a high-energy discussion as the three candidates for Baltimore State's Attorney faced off in the first three-way debate of their race on Thursday.
Marilyn J. Mosby faced challengers Ivan Bates and Thiru Vignarajah at the University of Baltimore's H. Mebane Turner Learning Commons.
The forum was hosted by WJZ, The Baltimore Sun, and the University of Baltimore Schaefer Center for Public Policy.
The incumbent, Mosby, is being challenged by two Democrats, former Deputy Attorney General Vignarajah and former Assistant State's Attorney Bates.
Because there are no Republicans in the race, the winner of the Democratic primary will be the presumptive winner of the November election.
