Baltimore Shines This Star-Spangled Weekend
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The national eye is on Baltimore this week, there's no doubt about it. Tall ships, air shows and lots of tourists have flooded the harbor.
Rick Ritter has details.
Thousands and thousands of people packed the harbor. Many enjoyed the fireworks and the ships, but tell WJZ they couldn't pass up a shot at being a part of history.
Two-hundred years in the making, it's a celebration like no other.
"I'm pretty sure it's going to be fun. Actually, I'm positive," one visitor said.
Decked out in red, white and blue, Baltimore is in the national spotlight, beaming with pride. A star-studded cast rocked Pier Six, while thousands packed the harbor -- all for the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner.

It's a chance to see the one and only Blue Angels, along with dozens of tall ships -- like the U.S. Coast Guard Eagle.
"Today, we've had approximately 5,000 people," said OC Alexis Davis, U.S. Coast Guard.
Some even traveled across the country just to be part of history.
"To share the memories with everyone that's here," said T.J. Mumford.
Even though Saturday started out cloudy, it turned out to be a beautiful night. Rain or shine, many say nothing was getting in the way of the celebration.

"Baltimore needs to really shine here, and I think it has been shining," said D'Alex Childers.
They're memories of a lifetime that won't come around for another 100 years.
"You can see the pride here in Baltimore, and that's special," Mumford said.
"I'm just thankful," said Karla Harris.
More than 1 million people are expected to visit Baltimore by the end of the weekend.
