Baltimore Police Investigate String Of Shootings
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating three shootings from Saturday night into Sunday morning. One of those shootings was fatal.
Police were called to the 39-hundred block of Edgewood Road for a shooting on Saturday at 10:50 p.m. Police say they found a 51-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
Police say they have charged Cory Carroll in that shooting. He's been charged with first and second degree attempted murder, first and second degree assault and firearm charges.
Shortly before midnight, police were called to the 22-hundred block of Wilkens Avenue for a shooting at the Starlight Liquor Store. They found a 19-year-old girl who had been shot multiple times. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say that the teen and another person entered the liquor store, waved a gun and said it was a robbery. At that point, a store employee took out a gun and fired it, striking the teen multiple times. The other suspect fled and is at large. At 12:15 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the 18-hundred block of Federal Street for a shooting. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Tyvonte Worrell; he was pronounced dead at the scene. If you have information on this shooting, please call police.
