Baltimore Man Gets 10 Years In Cocaine Case
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for dealing crack cocaine obtained from sources in Arizona and Texas.
Federal Judge Catherine Blake handed down that sentence to 34-year-old Travis Gaines on Monday after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession of cocaine.
According to Gaines' plea agreement, he and a group of Baltimore men obtained cocaine from Arizona and Texas for distribution in Baltimore. Gaines acknowledged distributing between 5 and 15 kilograms of cocaine as part of the operation.
Other men convicted of being involved in the operation have been sentenced to between seven and 12.5 years in prison.
Federal agents seized about 250 grams of cocaine from a stash house as part of the case.
