Baltimore Liquor Store House Of Spirits Robbed Late Tuesday Night

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A liquor store in Canton was robbed late Tuesday night, police said.

Two suspects, a man and a woman armed with handguns, robbed the House of Spirits on Fleet Street at around 11:16 p.m.

"For that to happen to them, it really is terrible," a Canton resident told WJZ.

According to police, the two suspects demanded the owner get down on the floor and empty his cash register. They took the cash, then went outside to start the car.

"It's pretty crazy, especially to hear about what happened to the guy previously," another resident told WJZ.

This is not the first time the liquor store was robbed; it was hit last January. The owner, who was also armed at the time, shot the suspect, who later died.

This time, however, the owner said he chose not to shoot because the suspects had already left the store.

Some residents said they're sad to hear that a great member of the community was once again targeted.

"It's a shame. It really is a shame. The people that own that are very much a part of this neighborhood."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
