WATCH: Anne Arundel County Officers Save 4, Including Infant & Toddler, After Car Crashes Into Severn Pond

SEVERN, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County Officers saved four people Friday evening after a crash into a pond in Severn, police said. The occupants included an infant and a toddler.

An officer was on patrol in Severn-Danza Park at 9:15 p.m. when he heard a crash nearby, police said. The officer found a vehicle that had veered off Donaldson Avenue and into a drainage pond in the park.

Police said the car, which was not fully submerged, was taking on water and the occupants were trapped inside.

Body camera footage released by the department shows the officer and a supervisor broke the passenger windows to gain access inside, saving a 9-month-old and a 3-year-old first. Then the officers rescued the two adults in the car.

Western District Water Rescue - Severn 22–711195 On Friday, April 1st at approximately 9:15 p.m. an officer was on patrol in Severn-Danza Park when he heard a crash in his immediate vicinity. He discovered a vehicle had lost control on Donaldson Avenue and went off the road through trees and a fence before becoming half-submerged in a drainage pond in the park. The vehicle was taking on water with occupants trapped inside. The supervisor and an officer, without hesitation, leaped into action to conduct a rescue of the four occupants, including a 9-month-old and 3-year-old child. Officers had to break the passenger windows of the vehicle to gain access inside. Officers carried the children to safety and returned to rescue the adults. Aside from being cold and wet, everyone involved was unharmed. The unlicensed driver was arrested due to outstanding warrants. Arrested: Oswaldo Ramirez-Lopez 27-year-old Glen Burnie, Maryland

No injuries were reported in the crash. Police said the occupants were cold and wet after the crash. The low that night was 34 degrees, according to a WJZ weather report.

The driver, a 27-year-old Glen Burnie man who was unlicensed to drive, was arrested due to outstanding warrants.
