Annapolis Tribute Concert Held For Iconic Singer David Bowie

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Several Annapolis musicians gathered to pay homage to the late innovative and iconic singer David Bowie.

The Capital reports the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians organized the sold-out tribute concert held Wednesday night at Rams Head on Stage in Annapolis.

The show featured about 14 bands and performers from around the area who came to pay their respects to the legendary icon and put their own spin on his classic music. Bowie died Jan. 10 after a battle with cancer. He was 69.

The concert included some of Bowie's greatest hits, ranging from "Space Oddity" to "China Girl" and "Rebel Rebel."

AMFM is a nonprofit aimed at providing temporary financial relief to professional Annapolis musicians who are in need. It also provides music education scholarships to young performers.
