Annapolis Opens Parking Garages Ahead Of Winter Storm

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- As a winter storm approaches the region, Annapolis officials are opening the city's garages to residents along snow emergency routes.

Mayor Michael Pantelides says the four garages will open to residents at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service is issuing winter storm warnings that will be effect from late Wednesday through Thursday night and forecasters expect a wintery mix turning to all snow by Thursday morning.

Officials say parking cars in the garages will help Public Works crews clear the streets.
