Annapolis Opens Parking Garages Ahead Of Snow

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis is opening its city parking garages for residents to park their cars ahead of the winter storm.

Mayor Michael Pantelides announced Sunday that all four of the city's public parking garages will open at 5 p.m. Sunday. Parking will be free of charge to city residents to help move vehicles off city streets.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County from midnight through 6 p.m. Monday. The National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow is possible. Forecasters say rain will change to freezing rain and sleet overnight. Then heavy snow will fall through Monday.
