AMC Says Texting Will Not Be Allowed In Any Of Its Theatres

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It looks like AMC moviegoers will still have to turn off their phones when the lights dim.

After mulling it over, AMC Theatres says texting will not be allowed in any of its auditoriums... "Not today, not tomorrow and not in the foreseeable future."

AMC decided to cut the idea after listening to moviegoers on social media.

Instead, AMC says it will invest more than $1 billion to enhance its sight and sound technology.

That includes an increase to the number of its large screens, more comfortable seating, new food and beverage offerings and an enhanced website and smartphone app.
