U. Md To Donate Profit From Alcohol Sales At Games To Combat Sex Assaults
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) -- For the first time, alcohol sales at the University of Maryland football and basketball games are turning a profit.
The sales reached just over $1,012,000 dollars. The university started selling alcohol at games in 2015.
Profits will be split evenly between sexual assault prevention and counseling services.
The University reports alcohol sales at athletic events has led to a decrease in drinking-related misconduct at games.
