Advocates Announcing Bill To Improve Access To Md. Public Records
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Open government advocates are announcing a bill that improves access to public records in Maryland.
Marylanders for Open Government are set to discuss the proposed legislation Tuesday, during a press conference call.
The bill would update the Maryland Public Information Act of 1970, as well as close loopholes and regulate fees related to accessing public records.
The bill is being sponsored by Sen. Jamie Raskin and Del. Bonnie Cullison, both Democrats representing Montgomery County.
