$5,000 Reward Offered For Tips On Crossbow-Wielding Dog Killer
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- After a western Maryland family found their dog dead on their porch earlier this month, PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Jennifer Collier told WJZ last week that she adopted the German shepherd-beagle mix Bronx as a therapy dog for her 8-year-old son last year.
After letting him outside at around 6:30 a.m. on October 21, the family found him on the porch about 20 minutes later, bleeding heavily from a chest wound. They live in the 13700 block of Orchard Ridge Road, in a rural area west of Hagerstown and east of Hancock.
"It's a horrible way for an animal to die," Washington County DFC Carly Hose says. "It obviously is very cruel and we need to find justice for Bronx."
