$9,000 reward offered for information in shooting of Baltimore high school student
BALTIMORE - A foundation created after a 2022 school shooting in Uvalde, Texas is offering a $5,000 reward for information in a shooting that injured a teen near a Baltimore high school on November 11, bringing the total reward to $9,000.
The 15-year-old student was shot in the neck, abdomen and leg about 30 minutes after dismissal at Dunbar High School. He was rushed to surgery and is expected to recover, according to police.
On Wednesday, police released a photo of a person of interest in the case who appeared to be wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black pants. Officers said the person was seen running toward Washington Street.
"Turn yourself in. We're going to find you," Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said. "There's too much video. There's too many witnesses."
The One in Five Foundation For Kids announced it is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case through its Crimes Against Students National Reward Program.
"Our foundation is heartbroken as we learned of this shooting today of yet another student," the foundation said in a statement. "This city has a history of aggressive attention to the care and welfare of its youth. We believe the right person will come forward and do the right thing in helping bring this individual to justice."
Combined with the $4,000 reward from Metro Crime Stoppers, a total of $9,000 is now being offered for information.
