4 Indicted In Md. Armored Truck Robbery

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- Four men have been indicted in the robbery of an armored truck in Morningside in which more than $74,000 was stolen.

Twenty-seven-year-old Antonio Cooper, 21-year-old Juwan Watkins and 22-year-old Eugene Watkins, all of Washington, and 22-year-old Maurice Foreman of Oxon Hill were indicted Tuesday. They are charged robbery and conspiracy.

Federal prosecutors say on Jan. 15, the men stole a car and drove it to a restaurant in Morningside, where two armored truck workers were transporting money from the business.

Authorities say two men with guns took cash and checks from the truck and fled in the stolen car.

Prosecutors say the four drove into the district, got out of the car and tried to flee on foot. D.C. police arrested the men.
