4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits British Columbia
OLIVER, British Columbia (AP) -- A 4.0 magnitude earthquake has hit British Columbia.
Earthquakes Canada says the tremor hit South Okanagan, about 24 miles (40 kilometers) south of Penticton, British Columbia, near the town of Oliver on Saturday morning.
The tremor was lightly felt across the region from Bridesville in the east and as far north as Lake Country.
Earthquakes Canada says there have been no reports of damages and none would be expected.
The last reported earthquake above a 4.0 magnitude in the province occurred May 8, south of the Village of Queen Charlotte.
