3 Light Rail Stations To Close For Repairs

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Maryland Transit Administration says three light rail stations will close for week to make emergency repairs to tracks and to prevent further erosion of land.

The MTA said Wednesday that the Mount Washington, Cold Spring and Woodberry stations will close on Friday for about three weeks. Transit officials hope the stations will reopen July 11, but weather could delay work.

The MTA says recent heavy rains have eroded land near the tracks at the Cold Spring Station. Power to the catenary wires will be shut down at the three stations.

During the closure, buses will take passengers between Falls Road station and North Avenue station. Service north of Falls Road will run with trains arriving every 15 minutes. Service south of North Avenue will run on its regular schedule.
