25th Anniversary Flashback Moments: Cal Ripken Jr.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, we will be showcasing one special moment each week this season.

Here's another flashback moment from the players that know the Yard the best.

On Sept. 6, 1995 at Camden Yards, Orioles shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. appeared in his 2,131st straight MLB game, breaking the consecutive-games streak record previously held by Yankees legend Lou Gehrig.

Cal Ripken Jr. joined 105.7 The Fan to remember one of his finest moments as a Baltimore Oriole.

Cal said, "The way that 2,131 unfolded, I'm still amazed...when they dropped the numbers on the warehouse and it gives you a chilling feeling and you start to get kind of emotional. It was a great setting. No one could have planned the lap around the ballpark...or how long the standing ovation lasted. The ballpark certainly enhanced it. It was our place, it was home."
