2 Sharks Caught & Released Off Ocean City Beach
OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ)—Three 17-year-olds received quite the surprise this weekend when they reeled in two sharks off the shore of Ocean City, Maryland.
Chris Floria, Levi Brickner and Shamar Gray travel from their homes in Calvert County often to go fishing in Ocean City.
But on Saturday the boys caught what they believe were two Sand Tiger sharks near the 72nd Street beach.

Floria, who normally makes weekend trips to OC, tells WJZ they first reeled in an 8-foot shark after battling it for about an hour and a half on Saturday.
And the fight continued with another catch: a 6-foot shark which took more than 2 hours to bring to shore.
The teens worked on 20 minutes intervals reeling them in.
"Our arms were tired," Floria says.
The teens were ecstatic and couldn't believe their eyes once they reeled the sharks in.
"This time is one of the first times we caught a shark this big," said Floria.
Saturday's catch was also special for Floria's friend, Shamar Gray who happened to be celebrating his 17th birthday.
Both sharks were later released back into the ocean.
