2 Plead Guilty In Armed Robbery And Carjacking Shootings
GREENBELT, Md. (WJZ) -- Tonnie Floyd and Marcellus Ramone Freeman have pleaded guilty to robbery and carjacking.
According to officials, Freeman---driving a stolen Jeep---followed a Garda Cash Logistics armored car to a Cricket store. The Garda employee entered the store and picked up a bag containing almost $4,000 in cash. As he returned, he was confronted by Freeman and another co-conspirator, who stole the money bag. Gunfire was exchanged and Floyd was wounded in the shoulder.
The Jeep received a flat tire as a result of the shooting and the men shot another victim in the face in order to steal that person's vehicle.
Floyd faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. Freeman entered a plea bargain and will receive between 241 months and 30 years in prison.
