2 D.C. Police Officers Hit By Car; 1 In Critical Condition
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- One Metropolitan police officer is in critical condition and another is in serious condition after being hit by a car in Northwest, D.C. on Thursday night, according to sources.
The two men in the pickup truck were also injured.
A D.C. department of transportation worker was also hit and injured.
The incident occurred in the 2400 block of 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan.
The officers hit were bike patrol officers. It is unclear if the officers were on the side walk or in the street when the crash happened.
Police say a driver of a white pickup truck hit all three victims and kept driving. The suspect was taken into custody after police say he crashed into another car about a block away, along with the passenger.
The transportation worker and one of the police officers were seriously injured, but their injuries are considered non-life threatening.
All three victims were taken to an area hospital.
The two men in the vehicle are both in serious condition.
This is a developing story.
