2 Bald Eagles Hatch At Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. (WJZ) -- Two bald eagles hatchlings made their appearance over the weekend at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

The hatchlings appeared on the refuges eagle cam Sunday. Officials believe one eagle hatched Friday into Saturday and the other Saturday into Sunday.

There's a third egg that remains in the eagles' nest.

One of the adult bald eagles could be seen feeding the babies on the refuge's live camera.

We have 2 hatchlings in the bald eagle nest!! Due to camera outages, we are unsure when they hatched, but suspect one was sometime on Friday and the other Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Still waiting to see the third one, but the egg still appears to be in the nest. Video shows one of the bald eagle adults feeding two very young hatchlings, credit USFWS. Although we don't have the ability to put the eagle camera feed online, we welcome you to stop by our visitor center where the live footage streams all day. We will also continue to post periodic updates on social media.
