1 Injured In 2-Alarm Brooklyn Park Fire

Brooklyn Park, Md. (WJZ) -- Firefighters in Anne Arundel County responded to a 2-alarm blaze in the 6000 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park Wednesday morning.

The call was received just after 6 a.m. and when firefighters arrived they noticed heavy fire from the two-story dwelling.

Sixty firefighters responded to the scene and it was declared under control several hours later.

One person, who went to the roof to escape the flames, was evaluated by paramedics but refused to be transported to a local hospital. He was injured on his hand.

An auto parts store is to the rear of the building, but was unaffected.
