Minor in custody after 14-year-old girl shot in Baltimore's Druid Heights neighborhood

BALTIMORE-- A 14-year-old girl was shot in a home Sunday afternoon in the Druid Heights neighborhood of Baltimore City.

Police said a minor was identified as a person of interest and was taken into custody.

The shooting happened after 12 p.m. in the 1900 block of McCulloh Street. The girl was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.

"It's Mother's Day," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified. "Why would a mother have to go through such anguish and pain on Mother's Day?"

A neighbor said she saw the young girl taken out of the home on a stretcher and watched as police arrested the suspect.

"They need to leave it alone, put the guns down," the neighbor said. "Everybody needs to be reunited and be as one."

Anyone with information on this should call police at 410-396-2411 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
