10 Year Sentence For Arson Linked To Drug Deal
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A 19-year-old Myersville man is going to prison for setting fire to the home of a teenage customer in a disputed marijuana deal.
The Frederick News-Post reports that Joshua Moore was sentenced to 10 years Wednesday in Frederick County Circuit Court.
Moore was convicted in June of first-degree arson for a fire that caused $250,000 worth of damage to a Myersville home owned by the stepfather of marijuana customer Jacob Bolton.
Bolton told police he got a half-ounce of weed from Moore but the bag was short so he refused to pay. He told investigators that Moore responded with an arson threat.
Moore didn't acknowledge guilt in his plea deal. He told police that Bolton bought some marijuana but that he didn't give drugs without payment.
