1 Killed, 1 Injured In Baltimore Beltway Crash

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a crash on the Baltimore Beltway has killed an elderly woman.

Police responded to the two-car collision Saturday evening on the Inner Loop of Interstate 695 at Park Heights Avenue. Police say a Toyota Camry collided with a Nissan Rogue.

Police say the driver of the Toyota lost control, striking a concrete barrier twice on the right side of the roadway before crossing the highway and crashing into the barrier on the left shoulder. A passing motorist stopped and helped the driver and passenger out of the car as it caught fire.

Police say 91-year-old Jean Harvey Hepner of Parkville died after the crash, and 90-year-old Virgil Ruben Carlson of Parkville was injured. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
