1 Dead After Forest Park Fire

BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) -- A man has been killed in a northwest Baltimore house fire.

The man's body was found in the home in the 4100 block of Ethland Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday, nearly three hours after the fire broke out.

Crews had difficulty fighting the two-alarm fire because they say it was burning extremely hot and flames were shooting through the roof. Freezing cold temperatures also made it difficult for crews to get their equipment in place.

A woman who owns the home made it out safely. The man killed is believed to be a tenant.

His identity hasn't been released, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire is Baltimore's second deadly one this year. A 2-year-old boy was killed in a Jan. 13 fire caused by a heater that was too close to combustibles.
