PLA demonstration
People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers show off during a demonstration to the public, at a PLA naval base in Hong Kong, July 1, 2015.
In the previous photo, smoke comes out from the helmets of dummies standing next to People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers during a mock shooting practice. Not sure what the smoke signifies, but at least it's not real people with smoke coming out of their heads. We're with you on the need for more explanation here.

Rescued lions
Ibrahim Al-Jamal, 17, and Ahmad Abu Jereda, 16, carry Mona and Max, female and male lion cubs, as they walk along Gaza City beach, in the northern Gaza Strip, June 15, 2015.
Saduldin al-Jamal bought the cubs from the Gaza zoo, damaged during last summer's Israel-Hamas war. His family looked after Mona and Max in their small home in the crowded Rafah refugee camp. The family would take them to parks or the beach and children, those brave enough, would come up to pet them.
The lions have found a new home, on their way to a Jordanian wildlife sanctuary, July 5, 2015. Have to love the this part of the story -- Israel said the lions and their entourage showed up without any prior coordination after the Gaza-Israel crossing was already closed Friday, June 3rd. The lions and their handlers checked into a Gaza hotel until the crossing reopened Sunday, June 5, 2015.

Every year thousands of people celebrate the day of the patron saint of the town, San Pedro, with a trek to the mountainous crags of Bilibio. Following a mass in honor of the fifth century hermit, St Felices de Bilibio, a giant battle ensues with participants using any method available to soak each other with cheap wine.
