24 teams, from all over the world, have applied to step up to the Challenge which will be held from September 5 to 7 at the Regional Science-Technology Centre in Checiny. The European Rover Challenge is an international competition organized by Mars Society Polska, in cooperation with the Austrian Space Forum, Regional Science-Technology Centre in Checiny and the Marshal Office of the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship.
The challenge is to design, construct and operate a rover that will most successfully complete a number of Mars-exploration themed tasks.

Bardarbunga volcano

Lava fountains danced along a lengthy volcanic fissure near Iceland's subglacial Bardarbunga volcano Sunday, prompting authorities to raise the aviation warning code to the highest level and close the surrounding airspace. The warning was lowered 12 hours later as visibility improved and it was clear that no volcanic ash was detected.

Maohou figure
