To mark the July 15 All-Star game at Yankee Stadium, 42 baseball-themed Statues of Liberty are on display in New York. The Stephen Holland statue, Pop Interantional Galleries, 473 West Broadway, at Houston Street, in SoHo area of Manhattan, celebrates the artist commissioned to paint them all. Apparently, he was so intent on having 42 to honor Jackie Robinson, he made one for himself.
32. Yankee Stadium
Fans have been offered a downloadable map and sent to search for them. The Yankee Stadium statue is outside the stadium Offices, East 161st St. and River Avenue, in the Bronx. The 79th MLB All-Star Game is being played at Yankee Stadium on July 15, 2008, in the stadium's final season.
31. Shea Stadium
The Shea Stadium statue is outside SNY studios, 75 Rockefeller Plaza, between 51st and 52nd Streets in midtown Manhattan. Shea Stadium also is in its final season; the Mets will be moving into Citi Field next season.
5. Boston Red Sox
The World Champions Boston Red Sox statue is inside the Sports Museum of America, 26 Broadway, at Beaver Street, in downtown Manhattan near Bowling Green.
33. All-Star Game #1
The All-Star Game #1 statue stands outside of the MLB Offices, 245 Park Ave., north of Grand Central Terminal, near 48th street in midtown Manhattan.
30. Washington Nationals,
The Washington Nationals statue is in front of the Modell's on 234 W. 42nd St., between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, in Times Square. This was one of most difficult to photograph because of the heavy pedestrian traffic.
6. Chicago Cubs and 23. St. Louis Cardinals
The Chicago Cubs statue is at 20 Broad St., between Exchange Street Place and Wall Street, in the Financial District. St. Louis Cardinals is at 1290 Avenue of the Americas, between 51st and 52nd Streets, in midtown Manhattan.
18. New York Mets and 21. Philadelphia Phillies
The New York Mets statue stands outside Penn Station, 2 Penn Plaza, near Seventh Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd Streets. The Philadelphia Phillies statue is outside the Modell's on the very busy 1293 Broadway, between 33rd and 34th Streets.
All-Star Statues 35 and 36
All-Star Statue #4 (Light Blue) stands outside the Time Warner Center, 10 Columbus Circle, at 58th Street, and All-Star Game #5 is outside the W.R. Grace Building, 114 Avenue of the Americas, at 42nd Street, across from Bryant Park.
16. Milwaukee Brewers
In the small foyer of the InterContinental, The Barclay, located at 111 48th St., between Park and Lexington Avenues, the Milwaukee Brewers statue greets hotel guests.
19. and 40. New York Yankees
New York Yankees #1 is outside the Modell's near Grand Central Terminal, 51 E. 42nd St., at Vanderbilt Avenue, and New York Yankees #2 is in front of the Yankees Clubhouse Shop, 393 Fifth Ave., between 36th Street and 37th Street.
15. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers are represented outside of Niketown, 6 E. 57th St., at Fifth Avenue, in midtown Manhattan.
7. Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox statue is outside of Walgreens on Union Square, 145 Fourth Ave., at 14th Street. Someone had scribbled on the tablet, but the following day, it was cleaned off.
4. Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles statue is outside of Modell's, 607 Sixth Ave., at 18th Street, in Flatiron District of Manhattan. Major League Baseball says the statues will eventually be auctioned off for charity.
42. Brooklyn Dodgers and 41. New York Giants
Here are former New York teams. The Brooklyn Dodgers statue is outside of Topps, 1 WhiteHall St., at Stone Street, and New York Giants is inside Toys "R" Us in Times Square, 1514 Broadway, at 44th Street. The Dodgers and Giants relocated out west after the 1957 season.
34. All-Star Game #2
Outside the Fox Studios on 1211 Avenue of the Americas, at 48th Street, All-Star Game #2 statue stands tall. Fox is broadcasting the All-Star Game on July 15.
10. Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies statue is at One New York Plaza at Water Street, near the Staten Island ferry landing, in downtown Manhattan.
8. Cincinnati Reds and 9. Cleveland Indians
The Cincinnati Reds statue is at Modell's, 1535 3rd Ave., at 86th and 87th Street, and the Cleveland Indians statute is at 150 E. 58th St., between Lexington and Third Avenues.
1. Los Angeles Angels
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim statue can be found at 1185 Sixth Ave., between 45th and 46th Streets, in midtown Manhattan.
13. Houston Astros and 28. Texas Rangers
Here are two teams from the Lonestar State. The Houston Astros statue stands outside the Reebok Sports Club, Columbus Avenue at 67th Street, and Texas Rangers statue is in front of Mickey Mantle's, 42 Central Park South.
