Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is being investigated in an allegation of sexual assault at a Georgia nightclub, police said on March 5, 2010. Officers said the alleged assault occurred at a nightclub in Milledgeville, about 85 miles southeast of Atlanta. Roethlisberger admitted that he had "sexual contact" with the woman but denies the two had intercourse or that there was an assault. The Steelers quarterback is also being sued by a woman who claims he raped her at a Lake Tahoe hotel/casino in 2008, an allegation he strongly denies.

Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino makes a public apology concerning his involvement in a scandal in Louisville, Ky., Aug. 12, 2009. Pitino's comments were the first since news broke that he told police that he and Karen Sypher had sex on a table at a Louisville restaurant six years ago.
Steve McNair
Steve McNair, seen running with the ball as Tennessee Titans quarterback on Oct. 16, 2000, was found dead July 4, 2009, with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said a pistol was discovered near the body of 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, also shot dead in the Nashville condominium. Police have concluded that the married father of four died at the hands of his girlfriend in a murder-suicide double-shooting.
Kobe Bryant

Michael Jordan
On July 21, 2006, a Cook County, Illinois judge determined that former Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan did not owe his alleged former lover Karla Knafel $5 million. Jordan had allegedly paid Knafel $250,000 to keep their relationship a secret.
Isiah Thomas
A jury found that New York Knicks president and general manager Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden had sexually harassed former team executive Anucha Browne Sanders and ordered the company to pay $11.6 million in damages. Thomas was criticized by Al Sharpton and Rutgers women's coach C. Vivian Stringer for comments he made in his taped deposition, and later lost his job with the Knicks.
Steve Phillips
ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips admits Oct. 21, 2009, to having an affair with an assistant at the cable network who reportedly taunted his wife with phone calls and a letter graphically describing their relationship. Phillips was later fired by the network.
Alex Rodriguez

Wade Boggs
Former Red Sox third baseman Wade Boggs, seen after the announcement of his election into Baseball's Hall of Fame on Jan. 4, 2005, Boggs garnered non-baseball related media attention in 1989 for his four-year extramarital affair with Margo Adams, a California mortgage broker. After Boggs ended the relationship in 1988, Adams filed a $12 million lawsuit for emotional distress and breach of oral contract.
Patrick Ewing
New York Knicks center Patrick Ewing, seen here April 23, 1999, testified in 2001 that he had sex with two dancers at Atlanta's Gold Club, one of the city's most prominent strip clubs, bringing in millions of dollars a year and attracting athletes, celebrities and other wealthy patrons.
Denny Neagle
Colorado Rockies pitcher Denny Neagle was found engaged with a prostitute and three days later caught speeding while drunk. The incident was a public humiliation for Neagle and ended his marriage. On Jan. 24, 2006, Neagle pleaded guilty in Jefferson County, Colo., to one charge of patronizing a prostitute and was sentenced to 40 hours of community service.
Frank Gifford
Former football legend Frank Gifford disgraced his TV host- wife, Kathie Lee , in 1997 when he was photographed with airline stewardess and mistress Suzen Johnson, who wound up posing for Playboy's November 1997 cover.
Eugene Robinson
Atlanta Falcons defensive back Eugene Robinson was arrested the night before Super Bowl XXXIII, for offering an undercover female police officer posing as a prostitute $40 for oral sex. The charges charges were dropped after he completed a court-mandated rehab program.
Daunte Culpepper
Quarterback Daunte Culpepper was cleared of misdemeanor charges stemming from a boat-party sex scandal. He was one of four Minnesota Vikings accused of misdemeanor lewd conduct during a cruise in the fall of 2005. Culpepper has since been traded to the Miami Dolphins.
David Beckham
In 2004, personal assistant Rebecca Loos reportedly said that an affair with soccer star David Beckham left her "breathless" and "very happy." Sarah Marbeck, a model who also claimed an affair with Beckham, was described in The Sun as "a high-class hooker." Wife Victoria Beckham says her husband has always been faithful to her.
Dennis Rodman
A former beverage manager at the Hard Rock Hotel sued Dennis Rodman, claiming the ex-NBA star assaulted her in March 2006 by rubbing against her body and slapping her on the buttocks. Prior to that, Rodman was sued by a cocktail waitress in 1998 who claimed he jammed a $100 bill down her blouse and grabbed her breast.
Roger Clemens
The New York Daily News reported Clemens and country star Mindy McCready had a decade-long relationship that began when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and the pitcher was a Boston Red Sox ace. Clemens denies any sexual relationship and calls McCready a "close family friend." For her part, McCready said, "I cannot refute anything in the story." Reports of several other extramarital relationships also surfaced.
