Rare super blood moon eclipse
Here are some of the great views you missed if you didn't get to see the last super blood mood eclipse for the next 18 years for yourself. These photos captured the show in the night sky Sunday, September 27, 2015. The phenomena, which was visible in North and South America, Europe, Africa and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific, occurs when a total lunar eclipse coincides with a so-called supermoon -- a full moon that's at the closest point of its orbit to Earth, making it appear bigger and brighter than usual. Many also saw the moon bathed in a reddish glow -- a so-called "blood moon."
