Emmy Awards - Tracy Morgan

It was Morgan's first appearance since a June 7, 2014 accident in New Jersey when a Walmart truck slammed into the limousine he and other comedians were riding in. Morgan suffered severe brain trauma among other injuries and one of his close friends, James McNair, was killed.
Forgotten star - Veil Nebula
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope unveiled in stunning detail a small section of the Veil Nebula - expanding remains of a massive star that exploded about 8,000 years ago.
The image, a composite of six photos, shows a two-light-year section of the structure which stretches 110 light-years across and is all that remains of the forgotten star. NASA released the image September 24, 2015.
Mecca - Mount Thor

Mount Thor marks the start of the journey of the Prophet Mohammad and his companion Abu Bakr Al-Sadeeq from Mecca to Medina. It houses Thor cave where Prophet Mohammed is believed to have hid from the people of Quraish before his Hijra (migration) to Medina.
Indonesia - forest fires

Indonesia ordered four companies to suspend operations for allegedly causing forest fires that have sent smoke across a swathe of Southeast Asia, an environment ministry official said on Tuesday. Indonesia has launched investigations against more than 200 companies as it scrambles to bring the fires on Sumatra and Kalimantan islands under control by the end of November, amid complaints from neighboring Singapore and Malaysia.
Croatia - migrants

More than 30,000 migrants, many of them Syrian refugees, have entered European Union member Croatia from Serbia since September 15, when Hungary barred their entry to the EU over its southern border with Serbia with a metal fence.
Philppine festival

A Polish court said it would rule on a U.S. request to extradite Polanski over a 1977 child sex conviction at a sitting on October 30.

Sydney - iPhone 6s & 6s Plus launch

The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus arrived in stores and at consumers' doorsteps, kicking off a sales cycle that will be scrutinized for signs of how much juice Apple's marquee product has left. Apple has a tough act to follow after the success of the iPhone 6, but sales are expected to benefit this year from the inclusion of the Chinese market, where the gadget's debut was delayed in 2014 due to regulatory issues.
Chinese military training

A total of 100 freshmen students from two local universities took part in the training camp. The training, which includes courses of anti-chemical, air raid defense, radar camouflage and other survival skills, aims to provide a more authentic and modern military education to young students.

India - Chand Baori

For a few hours on one day each year, local residents are permitted to descend into the 100-foot-deep, 1,200-year-old stepwell, as Hindu devotees in the area mark a local festival, at the same time as Hindus worldwide observe Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.
Yemen - Saudi-led air strike

More than 4,500 Yemeni have been killed since the Saudi-led alliance began military operations in March, in what they said was an attempt to stop the Iranian-allied Houthi group from expanding in Yemen and to restore President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who had been pushed into exile in Saudi Arabia.

Mexico hunger strike

Hajj stampede

Swiss prosecutors opened a criminal investigation into Sepp Blatter, the head of world soccer body FIFA, on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and misappropriation of funds, according to the the Swiss attorney general's office. It said Blatter was interrogated after a meeting of FIFA's executive committee in Zurich, and authorities carried out a search at the organization's headquarters on Friday.
