Mass shooting at Orlando nightclub
A mass shooting and hostage situation early Sunday, June 12, 2016, at a Florida nightclub which describes itself as "Orlando's hottest gay bar" left at least 50 people dead, including the gunman, making it the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
The suspect entered the Pulse nightclub with an assault rifle and handgun and began firing, as the crime scene turned into a hostage situation, before the suspect himself was killed. Police say the suspect also had an explosive device.
