Healthiest airports to eat at during holiday travel
Whether you’re visiting family or just trying to escape the cold, millions of travelers are flocking to the nation’s busiest airports beginning Thanksgiving week.
And, many of them are going to be hungry.
A new report from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) aims to help travelers eat healthy. The nonprofits’ 13th annual Airport Food Review looks at the restaurant menus for eateries at 18 of the 30 busiest U.S. airports.
The last place-airport on his list had only 50 percent of its restaurants offer healthy options, including immunity-boosting vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes. The healthiest major airport in the country had at least one healthy option at 85 percent of its restaurants.
