Devonta Pollard, a basketball player at University of Alabama, is charged with conspiring to commit kidnapping. His mother, Jesse Mae Brown, allegedly picked up six-year-old Jashayla Hopson from her elementary school in Alabama and drove for hours. Brown allegedly dropped off the girl off the side of a road alone a day later in Enterprise, Miss. Details on Devonta Pollard's alleged role in the kidnapping have not been released.

Police said Jashayla Markiaya Hopson was picked from East Kemper Elementary school on April 30th. Her disappearance sparked an amber alert. She was found safe a day later in Enterprise, Miss.
