Bollywood Movie Awards '07

Danny Glover, dressed in a traditional Indian outfit, wins an award for Outstanding Contribution to Global Entertainment at the 9th Annual Bollywood Movie Awards held at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island on Saturday, May 26, 2007. In his acceptance speech, Glover mentioned that he would love an opportunity to work in Bollywood.

Danny Glover presents the Pride of India award to director Mira Nair. Nair has directed several feature films that have received global acclaim such as "Monsoon Wedding," "The Namesake" and "Vanity Fair." Her next film, "Shantaram" will star Johnny Depp and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Her film "Salaam Bombay!" was nominated for an Oscar in the foreign film category.

Bipasha Basu

Model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu performed to some of the most popular songs from her recent films like "Omkara" and "Dhoom 2." Basu won the Best Actress award for her performance in the film "Corporate."

Kangana Ranaut

Bolllywood newcomer Kangana Ranaut performed to some of the most popular Hindi film songs at the Bollywood Movie Awards. The award show is organized by Kamal Dandona and his family in an effort to spread Indian culture in the United States.

Vivek Oberoi

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi made the finale performance with a medley of songs from his films "Saathiya," "Shootout At Lokhandwala" and "Omkara." Oberoi also won the award for Best Supporting Actor for "Omkara."

Arjun Rampal

Bollywood heartthrob Arjun Rampal performs at Nassau Coliseum for an audience of about 10,000 people mostly of Indian origin from the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean Islands. Rampal is a model-turned-actor. His recent films include "Don," "Ek Ajnabee" and "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna."

Soha Ali Khan

Actress Soha Ali Khan performs to popular Bollywood songs wearing a traditional Indian "lehnga." Khan is the sister of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan. She was the lead actress in one of India's biggest hits of 2007, "Rang De Basanti," a patriotic film about awakening.

Urmila Matondkar

Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar performs to catchy songs from popular films from 2006. Matondkar is best known for her performances in the films "Rangeela," "Pinjar" and "Ek Haseena Thi."

Rajkumar Hirani

Director Rajkumar Hirani holds up his Best Director award for the film "Lage Raho Munnabhai" as he makes his acceptance speech. This film is a comedy about a goon named Munna who uses Mahatma Gandhi's ideals and principles in his own life. The film also won the award for Best Film.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut wins the Best Debut Female award for her performance in the film "Gangster." Ranaut has acted in several films since such as "Woh Lamhe," "Life ... In A Metro" and "Shakalaka Boom Boom" since her debut.

Raghav

Raghav sang some of his popular songs such as "Angel Eyes," "Can't Get Enough" and "So Confused." He is an Indian-Canadian singer who has won several accolades for his music in the U.K. and United States.

Asha Parekh

Yesteryear actress Asha Parekh won the Lifetime Achievement award for her contribution to Indian cinema and classical Indian dance. Parekh was one of the leading Indian actresses in the '60s and '70s.
