YouTube sampling becomes beautiful, bluesy song "My Favorite Color"
(CBS) - What happens when you take dozens of YouTube musicians, chop the videos up and make them your own? Beautiful music. Israel-based producer Kutiman shows us just how moving the results can be in this soulful original song called "My Favorite Color."
Kutiman first turned heads in 2009, and this latest video is further proof of how much beauty can be found in seemingly-ordinary YouTube clips. Fans of DJ Shadow may see a resemblance in Kutiman's ability to search what must have been hundreds of performances to find the right samples for his composition. It's a piece that is wholly from the Internet and pure art.
