Giant moon tumbles through streets, disrupts traffic
The Mid-Autumn Festival sees millions of Chinese take time off work to be with family and gaze at the moon, but some residents were given a huge surprise Wednesday as winds from Typhoon Meranti set an inflatable moon rolling across traffic.
The gigantic inflatable blob was caught on video slowly rolling and tumbling over and around cars and pedestrians in Fuzhou, the capital of the southeast Fujian Province, which bore the brunt of Meranti as it made landfall with 145 mile-per-hour winds.
So far the storm has been blamed on two deaths in China and Taiwan, but the moon balloon caused no damage as it rolled through Fuzhou.
