Teen escapees from Houston jail captured after beating of guard

HOUSTON -- Two of the three teens who escaped from the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center Sunday after the beating of a 61-year-old guard have been captured, CBS affiliate KHOU reports.

According to the station, the U.S. Marshals Office has not said which two are in custody.

Authorities were especially concerned about Alferis Coby, 16, being on the loose. They say he lacks empathy, is extremely aggressive and considered at high risk for psychopathic behavior.

Coby was previously certified to stand trial as an adult for the March fatal shooting of a man outside a nightclub.

He's the teen who guard Tom Keneaster said beat him on Sunday before the escape.

Coby is accused of beating the guard unconscious and then using his keys to free the two other inmates. One of the other escapees has been identified as Jahrell West.

Keneaster said the whole thing started with a simple request for toiletries, which turned brutal.

"He [Coby] wanted some toilet paper, so I brought him some toilet paper," Keneaster said, according to the station. "That's when he bucked the door and started pounding on me.".

"I had a tooth knocked out and a little bit of fracture in the face," Keneaster said, according to the station.
